Landing has a great influence on everything, on playing with hands and feet, on endurance, on the speed of the game, on sound production. Often, a huge number of problems go away from eliminating an uncomfortable landing, and tangible progress is observed.
The only problem with this sometimes is realizing that you are still uncomfortable sitting.
