Competition Finalists - Young Drummer 2013 - Nathan Greene

All of them will perform in the final of the competition, which will be held on February 3, 2013. Many of them will become world stars in a few years.

Nathan Greene (age 16)

I'm from Birmingham, I've been playing drums since I was 3 years old. I love Rhythm and Blues, jazz and gospel music. My inspirations are Tony Royster Jr, John Blackwell, Dave Weckl, Buddy Rich, Tony Williams, Dennis Chambers and Aaron Spears, whom I met here recently.

In my baggage I have knowledge from all the drum classes that I recently completed. Many thanks to my drumming teacher, Tim Tandler, who leads the drum school in Birmingham. I hope that I will continue my studies at a higher level next year, and that this drumming competition will be a good boost for my career.

I started playing in church. When I was 13 I performed at Walsall Forest Arts. Centre, twice at Symphony Hall with the 17th Walsall Youth Jazz Orchestra. He was also an assistant at the Rainboy concert.

When I got to this drummer competition - I realized that dreams come true! This is a great opportunity to gain experience, knowledge and even recommendations.
