Vic Firth, the world's largest manufacturer of drumsticks and accessories for drummers, has unveiled its new product, HingeStix Practice Drumsticks.

Invented by physician/drummer/percussionist Sam Rothenberg, HingeStix sticks are designed to give you the right grip and the most efficient finger work when playing the drum kit.

The secret of HingeStix lies in their original design. Each stick is equipped with a special plastic block located at the balance point, providing ideal support for the thumb, index and middle fingers. Thus, the correct point of balance is reached each time the player takes the stick in his hand. In addition, the player develops correct finger technique and learns to feel the natural rebound. All this results in a smooth and relaxed approach to play, without hand fatigue.

With the unique design of the HingeStix Practice drumsticks, holding the stick incorrectly is simply impossible!

HingeStix is offered in two variations based on Vic Firth's most popular models: American Custom SD1 and American Classic 5A. For each model, the wand can be individually adjusted by unscrewing the plastic swivel pads and placing them in another hole. This allows the drummer to choose the point of balance that best suits the size of his hand.
