Travis Barker

Travis Barker is quickly becoming one of the most influential musicians in the current rock scene. Travis began learning to play the drums at the age of four. He studied with a jazz instructor and was exposed to many musical styles. While he was at High School, Travis played in a jazz ensemble and a band (which played marches, etc.). Subsequently, he gained a lot of experience, participating in regional competitions and festivals. In his older years, Travis left the drum corps to tour with a rock band. He gained a lot of experience as a rock drummer in such early bands as Feeble, The Suicide Machines, and The Aquabats.

Blink 182

In 1998, Travis replaced Blink 182's original drummer for one show, learning over 20 songs in a few hours and performing that same evening. Travis quickly became a respected and popular member of the band and cemented his position as a timekeeper with a professional attitude, rhythmic skills and sheer talent.

Blink 182 recently won "Teen Choice Award" (teen choice), "Blockbuster Music Award" (best action soundtrack), and the group appeared on MTV, where they won "Best Group Video" (best video) and performed the song "All The Small Things". In Europe, at the MTV Europe Award they received the "Best New Act" award (best new group). They performed on "Saturday Night Live" and "the Tonight Show" (twice), performed songs in the movie "American Pie" and opened the "Billboard Music Awards". The band has also covered the likes of Rolling Stone, Alternative Press (twice) and Teen People. In this vein, Blink 182 is a worldwide phenomenon with their multi-platinum records and their live tours selling everywhere. The popularity of the group has only been growing since the beginning of their work in 1993. In 1994 they released their first real album, "Cheshire Cat", recorded on Grilled Cheese (part of Cargo Music). In 1996 they signed with Cargo Music and MCA Records and their first release with MCA "Dude Ranch" (1997) only set the stage for their future success. By the end of 1998, they were positioned as the most popular pop punk band of the year.

Worldwide sales of the album "Enema of the State" now exceed the figure of seven million copies, not to mention that the album was in the Billboard's Top 200 for more than a year. The album's three singles "What's My Age Again" "All The Small Things" and "Adam's Song" received nominations from MTV, Alternative, Rock and Top 40 radio. Travis will tour in support of Enema of the State's latest album, Take Off Your Pants And Jacket.

The new album is expected to be a hit and will no doubt hit the charts in a while. While Travis is home from tours, he has a busy schedule teaching at least 40 students. This makes him very happy and he would like to have more time. Travis also founded the company "Famous Stars and Straps", which is engaged in drum business.
