The purpose of this book is to explore the possibilities of using drum rudiments in conjunction with the bass drum. The excercises are written especially to help gain control of the placement of bass drum notes, to train to use the bass drum foot as a third hand. The first third of this book is devoted to the development of the single stroke roll around the drum set. The next ten pages develop the long roll around the drum set and this is followed by excercises for the flam.
